Things are looking up! The NAV system started up. I think yesterday I just used accessory power when I put the SD card back in and that is probably why it didn’t load up. I am behind in the maps (905 vs 930) and the software (10.851 vs 10.852). So I’ll have to deal with that another way.
I also figured out my phone only imports contacts I have added directly to the phone so I think it may be some type of security setting with work that all my Outlook contacts don’t move over. Otherwise all good.
Thanks Kedis82ZE8, re: old SD reader, it very well could be that. metalfab, I am not able to even read the card on the computer so I couldn’t delete the loopdir. Skorpio, up until now, my PC could update everything I have with no issues.

Paul, older XP machies most likely cannot read high capacity SD cards (SDHC), which I assume the nav card is. If you look around on Amazon, or maybe DX.com, you should be able to find a SDHC card reader that will plug into your PC's USB port. That card reader has the ability to make your older machine read the newer high capacity cards. Obviously look at the reviews (amount of rating stars) before you buy, but you should be able to pick one up for under $4.00

I will post this under electronics to help anyone else but for this thread - learned quite a bit.
As the above poster mentioned, XP has issues with cards over 4GB but a fix came out for that long ago. My problem is that my PC only recongized SD cards, not SDHC cards. Anyhow - here in Canada Best Buy had a USB reader for $14.99 (still way cheaper than a new computer). The updates have now all been completed!
As for the Blackberry Q10 - the contact list is a problem with the adminstrator. They need to allow the sharing of the "Work" contacts with the Bluetooth, otherwise it only recognizes personal contacts. The problem is the old blackberry combined all this and to rekey 100's of contacts is just nuts. So I am going to ask the adminstrator tomorrow to take a look at this and hopefully get the policy changed a bit. Whew, all updated and ready to go.
I will be taking it for a good long drive on the long weekend and can't wait to test it out and see the MPG.

Congrats, I've done both, had cars 10+ years and over 200,000 miles, or, only kept them for a couple years, because I bore easily. This time around I came off a 2009 Honda Civic I had for 6 years, and traded for the 2015 CX-5 Touring. A slight upgrade in Tech is nice, but, my console is one that has the won't read texts and emails bug, still hoping for a firmware upgrade on that, sometime soon.
My girlfriend only ever leases, so, she gets a new car every 3 years whether she wants one or not, nice way to stay up to date.

I had a 2002 Chevy Blazer for the last 12 years and a 1999 Blazer for the three years before that!
It's been a fun day of playing around with it. I'll post some pictures shortly.
I have two things that I can't figure out even after searching. 1) I somehow screwed up the navigation sysem. I took the SD card out to back it up and get any updates and my computer wouldn't recognize it at all. I tried some updates on the computer but it might just be old (XP). I like to use things a long time before I upgrade!
The other is the phone/blue tooth. I have a Blackberry Q10 (provided by work) and only 4 contacts from the phonebook load, pressing the talk button on the steering wheel doesn't activate anything but the bluetooth is connected. I deleted and paired a couple of times with no success.
Just a couple glitches that I'm sure will be worked out. I also understand the long posts on the USB restarting with the same song now!
I don't plan on moding it at all.
Sorry for all the multiple topics in a post - one quick thumbs up for the cargo liner. They don't sell them any more and only were available in the US (supposedly). I really wanted something to cover the back of the back seats to keep the dog hair off and save me some vacuuming. My dealer found 1 of 3 left in stock in the US and got it in. It is fantastic, totally covers the trunk. I also got the rubber cargo mat which just goes on top. There is no carpet showing now that needs to be vacuumed... I don't mind cleaning it, the dog hair just is so difficult to remove.

I can help you with the Bluetooth issue. To activate your phone you have to push the button above the "talk" button the voice-activation button. Then you can say "phone" then choose who to call or push it then say "call *insert name* cell". Now the Voice-activation works 5% of the time correctly on what you want it to do. For me I just push the phone button just bbeside the screen and use it that way. The text feature is really neat.

Here's a quick review. I've had the vehicle for just over 2 weeks now - a week of going back and forth to work (short commute) and a week on holidays. I only have 600km on it because I'm only taking it to the golf course each day. I did get a good trip to the cottage and had averaged about 8.4km. It's at 9.4 now due to me having a bit of fun with it (but still taking it easy for the 1000km break in period).
I absolutely love it. I enjoy going anywhere to just go for a drive (while I like driving I have to be going somewhere and not just drive around). I'm really just making up reasons to go into town!. It drives nicely, amazing cornering and low-end torque compared to the Blazer. On paper it's only 8 cubic feet bigger but I seems so much larger than that - I fit everything for 3 weeks into the back seats and the dog had the entire cargo area. I think the tire being under the floor must be the big difference (oh and 4 doors).
The cargo liner with the cargo tray/mat is fantastic. Cleaning was just so simple and I didn't spend any time removing hair from carpet. That itself is a joy.
As for the tech, the system works well and sounds great. I don't think the centre point (or whatever it is called works - supposed to adjust volume due to noise level). If I open a window I have to change the volume and don't notice it at all. Yes, it is turned on in the settings. Like everyone else, I agree the shuffle should be an option that you turn on in settings, rather than having the same song play each time. Should be easy to program, you would think?
Overall, extremely impressed and please with the CX-5.

I forgot to include what else I looked at. I read about most small SUV's over the past few years and narrowed it down to the RAV4, CRV and RDX. I didn't even test drive the CX-5 originally. I took the first three out on a test drive, same day and same circuit. They were all 2014 models.
The CRV was dropped first - solid and well built but wasn't as advanced (5 speed for example).
I liked the Acura RDX the most but it also was lacking in technology compared to the RAV4. It did have a fantastic engine and a rich interior. But it needs premium gas and was 10k more.
The RAV4 was going to be the one I picked - lots of extras, good quality, cheap on gas and made in Canada. I was skeptical about the synthetic leather and really hated the dashboard coffee table-like shelf thing. Toyota really does strange things with their dashes.
So a year went by and I went to update my research and saw all the good things about the CX-5 and how many times it won various comparos. Took it for a test drive and less than a month later here we are.
Hope that helps if anyone else is shopping around.

I took the CRV and the Subaru Forrester out for tests before I decided on the CX5. The CRV was like driving a mini van, it didn't corner well and seemed to lack acceleration. The Subaru was sweet to drive handled corners really well but seemd to hesitate when you put it to the floor. They really lost me with their higher price, pushy sales pitch and 4% interest rate. What made me stay with Mazda was my previous experiences with them and the 1% interest rate didn't hurt either

I had a Q10 when I first got my 2015 CX-5 GT about a month ago. I have since switched to a Galaxy S5 last week, but I didn't notice any of the problems w/ the Q10. In fact, if you use Apollo on the Q10 (because Pandora isn't available for the Q10), you can select BlueTooth as your audio source and stream music from the Q10. Although you still have to use the Q10 to control (skip songs, stations, etc). But w/ Apollo you get zero ads.. only music.
Another thought - do you get the prompt on the screen that says "New message - download now or download later"?
And does that work?

The Q10 contacts were all fixed when work granted the appropriate access. I do get the download messages now and it does download them - just email and it reads them (which is nice) but only 110 or 120 characters. I think it thinks they are texts.
I can't use Pandora in Canada without a lot of screwing around to go through VPN. I loved Pandora when it was available to Canada, when they first came out about 5 years ago. It was all I used for about a year.

The Q10 really is a fantastic business phone. BB OS10 is incredibly easy to use and intuitive.
I may switch back to it, or move to the BB Passport when it is available... not sure yet... the S5 is a "fun" device, but doesn't sync everything like the BBs do.
