$135 tow home from the drag strip, that sucks. Guess I know what I am doing tommorow.

Didn't even get to run once. I was the first one in the staging lanes, just got $25 worth of racing gas, and paid $15 for test and tune, and didn't even get to leave the line.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! i wish i could snap an axle!! :D well one of these days.. (the car is just too new right now).. but I'll be FI one of these days..

anyway, Gotzoom.. sorry to hear about the wasted money.. but hey, it's still cool to have that much power, right?? by the way, what were you trying to launch at? or how exactly did it happen if you didn't run yet?

I was staged and ready to go when the axle snapped, light was turning green, I let the clutch go, and BAM! The car didn't even move an inch, hell, I was still staged after it broke. I usually launch at 3000 to 3500, and in case your wondering, I use BF Goodrich drag radials.

so how much WHP are you putting down, and what do you estimate the max WHP for stock axles is?

cant be that bad $625.
Are you sure????

You just had NO LUCK at all. Because my axles are still there and mi friends too and hes doing 13.2-13.5 on his P5 @ 11psi with slicks and bronze clutch.

Well on the bright side, atleast you have enough power to snap an axle. Welcome to the top 1% of all Protege's ;)

I know!! Take it to the dealer and see if the warranty will cover!

Yeah, right.:D

I have found a used one in Tennessee, they are closed today, but I will call them Manday. Only $135 I tried a 97 Ford Probe. Everything is the same except it has 28 splines on the wheel end, ours have 26 splines, that sucks.
