Smoking exhaust @ idle....

Last night I was filling up my car and thought I saw a little smoke from the tailpipe. I didn't think anything of it cause there was a hoopty behind me and I figured it was from his car.

I get into work this morning and let the turbo timer run as usual for 3 minutes. My co-worker pulled in a little after me and called me outside freaking out cause he thought my car was on fire. Turns out the thing was blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. It seems like white smoke usually indicates burning oil but I could be wrong there???? I waited for my car to cool and checked the oil and it appeared to be filled to the max... I tried starting the car again and let it sit for a few minutes and nothing.... If anyone has any insight as to what the hell is going on it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd take the turbo timer and any mods off and take it in to the dealer (assuming your still under warranty) that sounds like blown turbo seals. If you do a search theres a letter from mazda floating around here about the crappy PCV system that causes the smoking turbo.

I have heard that the search function is very cool, practical and useful.

Not trying to be a smart ass. Please forgive. But there's a ton of info and even a sticky now about the official position of Mazda on the "smoking" turbo issue. Might want to begin there. Just in case the posted link above did not put you on it, it's just a few threads down in this section:

my turbo timer is set to 30 secs.. 3 minutes?? damnnn

damn...why even have a turbo timer with that much time? may as well just leave it running 24/7. you don't need to run it over 1 minute even if you just autoX'd.

and in fact all that time you're just heating up everything else in the engine bay since theres no air flow besides the radiator fan
