Hey guys. Here are some questions i'd appreciate some help with:
1. Does the MSP come with 2.25" stock pipes?
2. Would upgrading to a larger diameter and running STOCK BOOST have a negative effect on the turbo (lag, spool time.....etc). In other words, what is the best diameter pipes for optimum performance of the car and turbo?
3. What is the best way to achieve really really really MELLOW/QUIET sound and still get all the gains in performance.
Keep in mind, I have no 2nd cat, or resonator on the car, and what seems to be a cheap muffler (Ractive) that the previous owner had put on it, and the DRONING (at low rpms, and downshifts, and letting off the throttle) is way way abnoxious to the point that people get a headache in my car and don't even want to ride in it.
4. If the best size piping for stock boost and having no 2nd cat is the original or 2.25", would you then suggest to just get a different muffler (since the local shop is telling me to pay $450 for a full 2.25" pipes from 1st cat back with a HAYAME??? muffler that is supposed to be nice and quiet), and if so, what mufflers are almost quiet or really mellow.
The previous owner had installed the muffler and had straight pipes replacing 2nd cat and resonator and I believe its the original size piping on it (2.25"), so it wouldn't make sense to pay the $450 for the whole setup when the only thing different will be the muffler.
Apologies for the lengthy email guys, and thanks in advance for your help.
