2010 Mazda 3 (RIP Mazda P5)
So i am picking up my new Mazda 3 tomorrow morning and trading in my Mazda P5.
I cannot seem to get a straight answer from the dealership when i was there (service was closed) and Sirius customer service was useless. They guy on the phone could not even pronounce "Mazda" and seemed to have never heard the word before.

I have Sirius currently in my P5 and dealership told me the car is Sirius ready. After doing some searches on the forum, it seems i still need the purchase some kit? Is it worth me getting up extra early and ripping my box and antenna out of the P5? Or do i need to purchase a new kit? I saw some posts about needing some special harness to make everything work. I cannot seem to find info on using all the hardware that is currently in my P5 that is connected to a head unit that is Sirius ready. (not a seperate radio or box).

Sorry for going on and on, but seemed to find many options but none involving using all the hardware that is currently in my P5.

Thanks!

Last minute bump in case anyone has advice.

Leaving in about an hour, and i started pulling the Sirius module out. It says Kenwood "compatible" module that is connected to another box labeled "Sirius connect". Since the paperwork for the car is all done, and we are just exchanging keys, I am not really hanging around. Hence me trying to figure out if i the current Sirius connect equipment is worth me saving or if i should just keep it in the P5 because it would be useless with the Sirius ready Mazda 3.

Not even sure if the antenna in the new M3 works with Sirius or i need a separate one.

All Sirius can tell me is that they need the # of the radio on the new car, and have no idea if the car is just ready to go.

When you get in the car, press the SAT button. My 3 i Sport doesnt have the SIRIUS brain, I could buy the SIRIUS Kit for $200 (+-) but i just decided to activate my old XACT Sirius Radio. Easier, and i picked up a cheap universal vent mount to hold the radio, instead of the windshield mount.
