Since the 03.5's don't come with a roof rack, who wants to sell me theirs?

Just go out and buy an aftermarket rack. The dealer told me they are actually better made, and bolt right onto the roof (If you notice there are places along the black strips which it will bolt to without having to put clips into the doors)

In canada none of the P5's come with a rack as standard equipment.

I would go buy a new rack from Thule or Yakima. I prefer the Yakima with a Qtowers the best. The factory rack is to small to put anything on. Mine was never put on my car when I bought it. (Black rails were installed, but the bars are still in orginal box). If I ever get the time and drive, I will be removing the black rails also.

Go with an aftermaket rack though. I can fit a long box and two bike on my rack, but I couldn't even fit the box on the factory. Also, there are a lot of problems with interfence with the spoiler and the factory roof rack. Everything hange off the back to far.

Do a seach for roof racks and you will see what the problems are.

What are the 2003.5 options and prices?

I've now seen several references to the new changes for the "refreshed" 2003.5.

Can anyone tell me how the new options work and what they paid for their cars. I think the first 2003s were just like my 2002.5 (I paid $16200 on the S-Plan with ABS, side bags, and moonroof). Except Mazda added a year to the warranty.

But now it seems there is either no roof-rack or a roof rack option. How much is it and is it like the old one? Is the subwoofer an option or is it now included. What other options are there? Isn't there also a $1000 incentive?!

Not that I have buyer's remorse, ;) but if Mazda keeps adding options mid-year, the 2006s will be able to fly.

thanks

I was forced to wait to buy a new car (employer laid off 15,000 people this year) until I knew I would have a job. Therefore, I ended up getting a '03 instead of the '02 P5. The same set of options and goodies was $800 cheaper for the '03! Some days you get the eleveator and some days you get the shaft. I paid $18,200 for a car that had an MSRP of $20,400.

By the way, the "Build a Mazda" P5 program on MazdaUSA now lists the roof rack as a $250 option and it's listed as an option on the specs. So I am assuming that the woofie is now standard equipment on the P5 as it's not mentioned in the specs. However the specs state that "full audio prewiring" is standard.

I'll pay for the subwoofer but mazda better prewire my 2002. It is annoying that some of us don't get and couldn't get what others can get now but I guess thats progress. On the plus side you know that mazda IS reading the comments you provide when you fill out that vehicle report you get in the mail as well as the boards. People complained about power, sound and roofracks. Now you got MSP, no roofracks and a NICE subwoofer that is hidden in the trunk. I'll buy the sub but you mazda better wire my car for free.

Does anybody know how much that sub is from a dealer? Anywhere else we can get it?

i would much rather buy my own subwoofer. the dealer sub is probably going to cot an arm and a leg so why not buy 800W of power instead of 100W.
