Silver vs. Primer black

just like the topic says. i am debating whether to keep my sunlit silver paint, or just paint the whole car primer black. now before anyone gives their opinion there are a few things you should know. i have had the car for just over three years. in that time i have blown the motor twice with nitrous. there are a few small dings here and there. (nothing huge, just door dings from inconsiderate people) i beat the heck out of it just about all the time, so its had its fair share of thrashings. i have absolutely no warranty in this car and the dealership knows it. despite all this the car runs very well. i misjudged the height of a curb the other day and cracked my front bumper pretty bad. i modded the stock bumper to the point where it looks really good, it just needs paint. right now the bumper is primer black, it almost looks like a semi-gloss. being that i have had this car as long as i have i am kind of getting tired of it but i can't really afford another car right now. so i think painting the car another color might reinvigorate my enthusiasm for this vehicle. i can't afford a full paint job either so i was thinking about just painting the whole thing primer black and i was curious what everyone thinks. sorry about the length

did you get that idea from the tuner mag with the flat black STi? (it was either that or an evo i think)

flat black seems to be a new trendy color from what i can tell.

it has to be done right though.

flat black can work, but not krylon stylee.... it would never look good that way.

yeah, the sport compact car STI did give me some influence. and if i do it i plan on doing it with spray cans. on the bumper it looks really good, no spray lines or anything.

take it from me.... NEVER appologize for length.

As far as flat black is concerned... put down the crack pipe! lol if that STI wasn't an STI it would have looked like s***.

just say no to flat black. there's now a 7th gen civic in Houston that's been krlyon'd... its basiclly stock. if you're going to do flat black:
a) it's a racecar
b) street driven, but has balls

I've always liked the look of flat black. Reminds me of a chopped and channeled Merc.

Have it done professionally, though, unless you really know what you're doing.

I'm still not sure why people think this is rice. Neon colors and graphics are rice. Flat black is subtle.

Different strokes, I guess. :D

It just doesnt look good on a new car? IMHO

its rice on a slow import and just because SCC flat blacks a STi I'm not about to change that opinion.

so you are calling my car slow eh? i pretty much made up my mind before i posted this. i just wanted to see what people think. i am going to do it. and yeah i think my car has got some balls to it

Matte finish is "iffy" .............i did see a civic hatchback that was paint camoflauge once a few years ago. But i hope this doesn't become the new "cool" thing

no I'm sorry your car doesn't have "the balls" in my book. but neither does my MSP :(

be sure to post pictures.
