Should these wires be connected?

I was poking around under the hood today and noticed a couple of unconnected wires dangling about. The one end runs down into the crankcase, presumably an oil sensor or something. Can someone take a look at their car and see where this connects to? I suspect it must plug into that unused gray connector you can see in the other picture. Is that right?

The 1st picture looks like the O2 sensor connectors(big gray) while the second pic looks more like the speedo sensor(which has a small black connector on the end).
The MSP shouldn't have a speedo sensor there because there's no speedo gear on the LSD.
Are you sure that the big gray connectors go to speedo sensor?

I'm just talking out of my ass right now because I don't have a MSP to compare to right now.
