Should I wait to boost...

Yes, I heard that about the 9psi proto car...I think the reason they took it down, is because, with a heavy load, in cold weather, pulling in 5th, you coud potentially pop ur motor....but we are talking Butt ******* cold(welcome to Canada), a really heavy load, like maximum load, and pulling hard boost in 5th

Yes it is true as far I know. It's been discussed here before, and I remember reading about it in some printed literature. Like mazdaspeedpower stated, it was reduced to maintain reliability....you shouldn't boost for long in 5th gear, but not everybody knows that, and people WILL do it.

wtf?
bump that up to 12psi and have some fun(on 93 octane though)
I agree...(hump). I decided to let my chill for a week or 2, cause i was getting my car way too hot, so i went from 14 back to around 8. It varies.

13psi is the sweet spot in my opinion....

Jersey- The product manager from Callaway is still driving one of the prototype MSP....I saw it a couple of weeks ago @ the valley.

I have been running 12PSI since almost the first month I owned my car. I took my MBC off to get my exhaust fixed and then waited a while before I reinstalled it but so far after 39k miles I have had zero problems related to boost.
All I ever needed thus far was rear sb bushings, and a new midpipe under warranty of course. On 93 octane @12PSI my cars pulls like a rabid, little, nubian beast :) It was running 15PSI for a while after the factory tech "Adjusted" my wastegate but it has been returned to normal and my MBC put back in. I can only imagine how well it must run with the other delicious mods but alas I am old with dem childrens and have borrowed 234,000 to build a new house that should be worth about 360,000 so it's all good in da hood.
I'll get my mods later.
Good DAY SIR! I SAID GOOD DAY!

Did you do any other mods in preperation for the increased boost? Or did you just slap on a MBC on a stock MSP and boost it up?

Well I suppose I fall firmly into the "slapped" on category. Of course I did install a boost gauge first ;) The added boost makes a world of difference in the car. I would like to buy some other parts but I am debating whether or not it is worth putting anymore money into a car I may give to my kid in a few years.
I have a LOT of other things to pay for first. Like 1170.00$ to secure a rate for 6 months, 3400.00$ for interim closing, 5800.00$ for mortgage closing, and thousands of dollars in other B.S. that my Wife may want for the house; furniture, wood blinds, etc. And I want to build a PVR box for the living room, two more S.F.F. PC's for my kids rooms, probally a plasma in the Living room as well.
So the car is just basically point a to point b for now.
