Short Shifter(yes I know once again)

Hey SS guys I've just installed my Kartboy today and realize the shifting action became harder than before, it's not as smooth as my stock one is it suppose to be like that?

I've try to do the bushing but ran out of sunlight so I retighten the bolt back, could this hard shifting be the fact that I over tighten the bushing bolt? Thanks in advance.

BTW to answer the original question for this thread I like my kartboy very much.

i believe that the b&m is the most expensive, twm is next and then kart boy would be the cheapest.....i could be wrong though

Let me say one thing..... B&M...B&M... this shifter is sooo precise!! Reminds me of the old Hondasport SS. One thing.. you do not want to go to short. With a really short throw you can easily ruin the shift fork. You have to becarfull when chosing one! The B&M is very accurate and well ballenced. Just because the shifter looks short doesn't always mean it is the best. Just becarefull who you pick!!

i got TWM gen2 ss and Kartboy bushings is the best combo, my 2cents

For the first ~1000 miles of driving there was more effort required. Now that mine's broken in it's much smoother, nearly as easy as stock (minus the lost leverage). But yes mine did the same thing. It'll get nicer. Feels really great now.

Thanks, good that I don't have to worry too much about it.

Kartboy SS: $90
TWM: $109 MSRP you might be bale to get it cheaper somewhere
B&M: $145 From Protege5online.

Because it's a shorter shifter and throw you'll naturally need more effort to shift. I guess it'll "break in" after some time, but I think that just basically means that you get used to the new shifter and the amount of force you're shifting with.

You're talking about the Kartboy bushings and the bolt holding the stock bushing for the shifter housing linkage? If so, the tightening of this bolt wouldn't affect that.
Now, the bolt that holds the shifter to the shifter linkage, don't overtighten that, and make sure to lube that up reeeal good. If you don't you'll get annoying creaking and stiff shifting.

Thanks! Yes I did lube the shifter linkage and I was refering to the shifter housing ilnkage. And yes I'm getting use to the force needed to shift the SS so no more complain... thanks.
