Short shifter for Automatic Transmission?

Happy New Year yall!

I don't need a short shifter if I have an automatic transmission, right?

Also, has anyone with an automatic changed their stick/knob/boot to something more exciting? How was that process and what did you change it to?

Thanks!

Unscrew the knob.. The shaft is long and the knob extends down toward the base of the shifter. You could probably find a manual shift knob with no numbers on it to put on the end of the shaft. It's chromed

EDIT: I meant this for sport shift auto.. late 2002 to 2003.5. The gated shifter not the t-handle style

Hey Fang! I bought the exact same shifter, but now it's not locking in any specific gear. I can just give it a tap and a it shifts from P-R-N-D. Hope that makes sense. Anyhow, how did you manipulate that white plastic stick to effect lock/unlock the gearbox? I tried just sticking the shifter on top, so it looks just like your picture, but the gears still aren't fully locking in.
