Short Shifter Boot and other pics

I guess the host site was down. It appears to be working now though...

To take the console out, there are 6 screws. 2 in the front down by the floor, 2 in the back next to the seats, and two in the middle under the e-brake cover. The cover just pulls out. Next unscrew the shift knob and place the car in 2nd gear. Grab the cup holders and pull then straight up, they just snap in place. Now the console will pull back and up. Carefully pull it around the shifter and take it out of the car. That it it. Re-install in re-verse order.

To fix a gap, you can put a couple of washers on there and it should fill the gap.

Not to steal your thunder, but this is what I came up with.

Thanks for in inspiration.

Don't worry about it. This is why I posted it. Yours looks great. I just wasn't happy with 1) the rubbery/vinyl material, and 2) how much extra material there is once a SS is installed...

This was just what I came up with. Others, feel free to post your own creations/solutions here as well.

What I like about mine is the suede matched the material on the seat bolsters pretty well. I think that I am going to change the knob at some point though. I like the factory leather knob too though...

We'll see...

yeah
i like the side of the door
i want to do that too
i need to read up to see who and how did that/how is it done

I bought a piece of suede off of eBay. Just look around there and there is a ton of it. I think the guys name was ACStradingpost. Easy to work with and fast shipping...

You could probably pretty easily make my template into a 4 piece JDM style if that is your thing. I think that I am going to try to make a ebrake boot at some point...

PM'd you dude. Very nice upgrade to the ugly shifter boot with the yellow stitching. Also a nice touch to take care of the ugly holes in the front bumper. I also do not use my front license plate, it is on the back seat floor in case I ever want to stick it in the window or whatnot. Let me know if you are interested in making another set. Thanks!

I read that you were making a SS/E-brake combo for a guy out of suede. I would buy a black suede with silver stitching combo if anyone knew how to make it. I don't know how to do that kind of thing, or else I would set up a small group buy and do them. If anyone is interested, I will be the first of many who would spend money on this. I hate the stock boot. It doesn't fit well, it traps dust and dirt in it, and it is cheap and ugly. I want black or titanium grey with silver stitching. I think that would look sweet on my car. Nice work on yours. Let me know....Nic

I made mine and one for three other members. That was a while back though. I don't have any more material (or time, I am getting married soon) to make more. There is a guy on here that is doing exactly what you are looking for though, a short boot with colored thread and a e-brake boot. He was calling it "JDM-style" since it is sort of like the Honda JDM boots I guess. Thanks for the compliment on the boot, however. =)
