Short Shift, Kartboy or TWM

I'm ready to buy a few goodies for my baby this weekend, but like to get your opinion b4 making the purchase.

I'm looking at a short shift kit, intake filter kit, and Piaa ION yellow fog lights.

These will be the first modifications to my 3 month old MP5:)

Here's what I found:

Kartboy for $100 with bushing included

And the other is TWM for $120 but no bushing?

Which one is the better buy?

i just installed my kartboy and the bushing and its awesome.
lowered the height in the shifter and reduced the throw a lot.

I've heard this adds stress to the shift fork/tranny and some folks have had to dish out a couple grand to fix the tranny. Is this true?

Nope!

Stress on the shift forks is operator induced. The short throw levers just shorten (and thus quicken) the shifting. It requires more effort on the part of the operator, but does nothing to the forks.
People who put short throw shift levers in are most likely shifting harder and faster, and that's where the stress is comming from.

Thanks Jim... (thumb) Now lets see if I can put together a few buck and get one :D

I have a kartboy in my 3, but I replaced it for the B&M shifter for the shortest throw recently. The B&M is a little more, but I was definately pleased with the Kartboy......out of the two, go kartboy

Get the Kartboy, seriously.

TWM isn't on the site, neither is B&M...Kartboy is "local" and they are here on a regular basis.

I'm also partial.

Kartboy local??? For you maybe, cuz I'm in North Carolina!

I said "local" as in, they are on the board "local"...I'm Colorado, not California.
