HP / Compaq iPaq It's a better operating system.

But; for the money you are wanting to spend, The 505 should be fine.

you can buy myHAndspring Visor neo

Been sitting in my desk since I got it. Used like 2 weeks. I don't see the use for them at all.

Just get a laptop man :)

I prefer the Palm OS myself. Palm makes some nice products, also look at the Sony Clie line. My friend just got a Clie this past fall and loves it. She paid a bit more than you are looking to spend but it had what she wanted. Also, look at refurbished, you might be able to get a nicer Palm for the price you are looking to spend. Look at Amazon too.

I have Palm Vx with the leather case and a wireless modem that can be used to get on the internet. I am planning on selling it on eBay soon but if you want it, make me an offer. Its not color screen though, but its fast for just a schedule keeper/basic stuff.

I've got a Sony Clie too.......I think it's the PEG22 or something like that.....nice color screen....does everything I need it to. They go for around $149 at the stores so you can probably find cheaper online. They run Palm OS by the way. All the Palm stuff like the M505 is good.....it's just I think it's a grayscale screen but color is honestly not that big of a deal....I use mine all day long at work and I had a grascale Handspring for the last few years and I can honestly say I've never used anything yet that needed color.

The iPaq's and stuff are way more expensive plus they run Microsoft CE.......otherwise known as the Devil's OS. Stick with palm......it's the most stable and the most cost effective.

I'll go with the Palm OS because of their simplicity and a lot of available softwares that supports it. I have that Zire 71 and worked so great for me.

ipaq 4355 is what i got. waaay outa your price range at $450-500 but hey, im kind of a technophile. 400mhz + wifi + bluetooth + thumbboard + bluetooth phone = the s***.

We use Dell AXIMs. 300Mhz, 32 meg of RAM with WIFI and Pocket PC2003.
It is much better for our needs it integrates directly into Windows, has Pocket Office built in, IE, and we get them for around 180.00$.
We are migrating away from Palm as it has proven to be more problematic for us than the CE/PocketPC 2002-2003 PDA's. I really like being able to just drag and dop all my files to the one folder on the desktop and have them actively sync to my device without having to do the one time "sync" button when I am ready to go. They play Mp3's, AVI's, and have tons of addons. I bought my daughter a Color Palm of some kind and I hate that thing she is getting an AXIM to replace it. I have gotten use to the ease of use associtaed with these AXIMs. I also have two 300Mhz IPaqs I got for free but the batteries don't hold a charge. It is very cool to hit a hotspot and be able to surf on your PDA.

I have a Handspring visor (had it for 3 years now, looking for a replacement) If you're looking for under 100 palm OS is goign to be all you can get new. It'll work great for calendars, small amounts of note etc. Otherwise if you plan on doing major documentations, (more then a few words) the pocket PC is you're thing to go for.

(Personally I'm very interested in the new Treo phone/PDA combo.) I think thats the way PDA's are going. I'm goign to wait a year or two (if I can) unitl the next generation of these come out.

PALM = Teh SUX, it cant do anything, it doesn't even have a web browser, how bad is that?

get a Dell Axim, its only 500SHIPPED CDN and it has built in wifi with the fastest cpu on the market plus pocket pc 2003 Second edition, this is the only one that has PPC 2K3 SE
