shifting issue

I just bought a 06 mazda 3i 4dr with a manual tranny and i love everything abt the car except for one minor set back. when i run the car under hard acceleration it shifts like butter until i wanna shift into 5th gear i will be running the car at like idk 5 1/2k or so and go to shift and i will just block 5th completly. Idk if this is a govenor put in the car or if i have an issue with my tranny. I have found tho when i let off the gas and then push the clutch in it will shift better. If anyone has encountered this before give some info and that would be greatly appreciated .

I dont think the governor will block you from shifting into 5th, maybe its that gear that is messed up

sounds like a bad tranny, sucks for you're gas milage but at least its drivable

welll i can shift into fifth fine as long as im not accelerating as fast as the car can. and it shifts fine when im just driving around thats y i thought it wwas the govenor

Are you shifting with your foot on the gas at all times????

no i usally let off and push the clutch at the same time and when im just driving it shifts fine into fifth gear but when im drivin the car hard it wont let me shift into fifth i have to let off the gas a noticable amount of time and then it will shift into fifth. i really dont understand it maybe i just cant drive!!!
