My shifter doesnt bounce back up anymore when i push it down to go into reverse. Its even hard to push down. Its just not smooth anymore. The car only has 12,000 miles on it. I took the center console out and sprayed white lithium grease all over it and it still sticks horribly. Any thoughts????

and btw, i logged into the wrong account...i dont have my MSP anymore. I am referring to my Mazdaspeed 3.

this is the account i meant to post under....lol my bad. anyways................any suggestions?

well, once i push the shifter down it goes into reverse just fine. The problem is that its hard to push the shifter down, and it stays down and wont pop back up. I have to use a little force to pull it back up. Sometimes its so bad i have to push really hard to get it to go down. It just feels sticky, but yet i sprayed white lithium grease all over it.

Oh, and im sorry you had to go through that man. I bet that sucked!

I had this problem. Turned out i shifted into 3rd too hard and bent the shaft of the shifter. Factory warranty covered replacement. Shortly thereafter it happened again. So after talking to the tech...i just bent it backwards, seemed to improve and didn't stick any more. Not worth loosing my car for a day or two to have the dealer replace it again. I'm wondering if an aftermarket short-throw would still have this problem...

Foul on the play, 15 yard penalty. "That's what she said" Infraction.

You can't set up your own "That's what she said" joke in this league, rookie.
