Shifter locked up.....

yea tonight driving, not even romping it.. i go to put it in second seeing a red light turn to green.. and it wont go over... so i put it in 3rd and putted into a parking lot.. called my roadside.

Wouldnt go in anything besides 3 and 4. Shittyy!!!

Sounds like the one shifter cable disconnected or jammed. Were you in there playing around, I.E. installing shifter bushings lately?

There is one cable that runs up down, and one that runs side to side. Sounds like the side to side one is screwed up if you can only get into 3/4.

Nope wasn't installing anything.. nothing around that region. I was driving very casually and slow. lol It just didn't work in a matter of a second of working. We'll see what mazda says 2morrow.

All ive gatered so far is that it takes long as hell to get parts from Japan and that for some reason the dealership doesn't think its logical to replace the whole transmission .

2nd gear syncros and bearings for 5th and 6th gears.

The first night I took my speed3 out the linkage cable disconnected from the shifter and I was stuck in 1st. Had to have it towed back to the dealer and fixed.

Really? There are people people driving around with over 20k miles already. There are others tracking this car constantly. So far from what I've seen the tranny can handle the power just fine.

Snapped a shift fork maybe? Can you still move the shifter?

the MS6 have the exact same tranny and did you saw any blown? It have 10 more hp and 4WD... thats much harder on the tranny than FWD.

well thats what the service manager told me when I asked if there was anything I could do to aviod them having to rebiuld the transmission . I believe his exact words " It has a really fast engine and it might just have too much tourqe for the transmission" then he siad you'll just have to make sure its in gear before you go..... My response "all I can do it put the clutch all the way to the floor shift and then listen to it strip 2nd and 3rd .

You haven't had any problems seriously ? I thought they rebuilt this transmission and made it shorter for the speed3 ? I still havn't got my car back its been 3 weeks today. I miss my car........
they are throwing in a free aux jack hookup since I had the sat radio . the make up for the time they took . I really don't believe they know how to put the transmission back together again.
