shifter extension

Does anyone know how to remove the shifter extension? it has been fustrating me for a while now. Will greatly appreicate any help. thanx!

WHY would you want to do that? it won't gain you anything. if you want a short shifter....buy one....for just by removing the shifter extension...you will NOT end up with a short throw shifter.

When I removed my extension, I used a torch to heat up the extension and then twist it off with Channel locks. I eventually ended up getting a B&M short throw shifter, but removing the extension is one way to at least shorten the arm. Don't forget that you'll need an aftermarket knob of some sort, or heavily modify the extension to re-use the threads.

fer christs sake...

if ur goin for the shortened throw...just kick out the cash for a b&m short-throw shifter...geez.

How long did it take for your B&M Shifter to come in the mail? I dont want to wait forever but i know u cant rush a good thing.

first thing to do Korey is to decide where you are going to get it...then call them and verify availability....

I got mine from Protege5Online.com I called Mitch there and verified they had them in stock....I sent in my order...and in a week I had my shifter in my hands.... :{D of the things I have done to my car....I appreciate that one the most as it effects the way I drive and the feel of the car EVERY second I am in it.
