Hey all,

I just finished installing the TWM shifter bushings and when I shift into "R" the shifter doesnt seem to engage very well and it'll pop up a bit more than stock. Is this normal?

no, not at all.

i'd make sure that the lips of the bushings are seated properly. other than that, i can't see what else would cause you an issue. do yourself a favor incase you haven't and test the thing out without the console shroud and boot back on, so you can detect issues before reassembling.

just take it apart and make sure you got everything in the right place and all tightend down.

Hey, mine are fine in all gears...I'm just gonna put this out there, but there might be something wrong with the install. Make sure that the cable you disconnected if you did, and make sure its fully connected in the ball-joint bushing.

Okay, I reinstalled and the engagement is fine now but the shifter still pops up much more than before. In fact I don't remember the shifter popping up at all. (All this is while still in "R").

I took a look at it with the boot off and can see that the little metal arm on the left side of the shifter, that prevents going into "R" when you don't press down on the shift knob. (Its the little tab/knob/thingy that glides against a plate so that you can shift into 1st and 2nd smoothly with it undepressed). So when I depress the shifter and go into "R" it moves underneath that plate and then into "R". When I let go, the shifter jumps/pop up considerably. If I hold it down in "R" I can see the arm has a lot of distance between where it sits and the plate and when I let go, it pops up and hits the plate.

Is that normal?
Wish I had a picture to show you guys.
