Shatty Rotors

3 of my friends now own MSP's and i traded my car for a few days just for kicks. After driving the car , I noticed the brakes suck! They shake badly even at slow stops. I figured it was just this particular car, and maybe the owner slammed on the brakes at high speeds warping the rotors, but after asking teh other 2 owners I know, I found they too have the same problem.

My questions is, is there a know issue with MSP having easily warped rotors?

Yep that warp easy. Mine are now warped for the second time. Although the brakes are very powerful in this car.

Well if anybody wants to get out of thier speed, thats the way. Just take it in 3 times for faulty warping rotors, and youve got yourself a lemon.

Not that I see any reason to get rid of an MSP, they seem pretty cool so far.

7k miles and few autox with hard breaking. I have yet to have any warped rotors. Mine is one of the msp made in aug of 92.

My rotors feel like they're warped pretty bad. The thing is, I've NEVER heated the brakes up to the point where they should do this. I've done a few 60-70mph hard stops, but not in a row. I've NEVER autocrossed this car or gone to the mountians, I KNOW what warped brakes feel like and this is definetly warped. I'm taking it to Mazda tomorrow and we'll see what they say.

hot spots will cause uneven pad wear and give the same feeling as a "warped" rotor btw

Mine seem fine, but i noticed at highway speeds when i need to apply the breaks a little, the steering wheel shakes a bit...

They were making some grinding noises when I applied them at slow speeds, then I washed my car and wheels and the noise went away...maybe it was just built up brake dust/dirt...
The MSP still has decent breaks imo...
