Shattered Sunroof

So today I was driving down a road with no trees around it no large buildings and all of a sudden I hear a loud bang. My friend and I instantly looked at the front window to see if it had cracked. We couldn't find anything, the noise sounded like it came from above us so when we got to where we were going we checked the sunroof and the roof for any dints, we didn't find anything. So I go away for a couple hours and when I come back my sunroof is shattered the weird thing is the glass is broken outwards around the hole.

Has anyone had something like this happen?

Also I got quoted $650 Cdn to fix this, is there anywhere online where I can order the glass for cheaper?

Musat have had some wierd defect (or hidden damage).

A failure of the glass at high speed would be expected to 'blow out' and not into the car (DO NOT make me go into boundary layer separation low pressure gradient!

Bummer.

I would use Genuine Junkyard Parts FTW!
