Seat Leather Wrinkles

:
SOLD 2002 Protege5; Current 2008 CX-9 Grand Touring
Hi, all.

Has anyone's driver seat developed leather wrinkles under their thigh area that feel like that they could develop into cracks? The wrinkles are oriented front to back.

I am wondering if I have a problem that I need to bring up with whichever dealer I end up going to.

Thanks,
Zoomfive

No one has any issues with wrinkles in their seat leather that feel like they could rip?

I have wrinkles in mine that go from side to side, but they do not seems major enough to worry. I just make sure that I keep the seats moisturized with leather treatment.

Had the same thing in my last car, wrinkles had never cracked after 8 years of ownership. But just like Lindyrect, I had conditioned the leather about once a year, so maybe that helped. I have seen people with minimal wrinkles in the leather, but they conditioned the heck out of their seats every 4 months or so, and that is just so much work......

I hope that you're right. Pity that they exist though in the Mazda leather. I had a VW and that was some pretty bad leather. Other cars I have had did not have this problem. I guess it is about the grade of leather or its preparation.

Every leather lined car I've ever had got them. The only one that didn't was "leatherette" and it was in my MB C220. But, that's vinyl. Its just part of owning leather.

I condition my seats with Lexol Leather conditioner about once a month or so (when I detail my inside completely). I have had great results in the past and using this product on many other leather goods. You can find it at any decent auto store.

I've had my CX9 for just about a year now and the seats look just as new as the day I bought it. Yes there are very minor wrinkles but they are soft and look great. Keep in mind I have two young boys under 12; so you know they put up with quite a bit (seats that is).(fight)
