I've been wanting to install a 1.8L into the CSP Miata for a while. The 1.6L that is currently installed, albeit abnormally strong compared to other 1.6's, just can't contend in CSP.
I've got a '99 1.8 that I paid $55 for (complete
) that is awaiting funds for a complete rebuild to tolerance. Unfortunatly, that'll take the better part of 6 months to be ready. However, I have another 1.8L that was given to me with "compression issues", as stated by the PO.
For fun, I figured I'd perform a compression test to see what it yielded. It was rather interesting cranking an engine outside of the car, in the basement. I've never done that before. The test yeilded 174-175-174-175. I think I'll be installing this engine sometime before March
.

Furthermore, the MegaSquirt for the car is nearly done. More to come on that later (glare)
