Is it really priced that low? This looks like real competition for the Mazda 3, and if I were looking for a new car right now and could get something like that for that low of a price I'd hit it in a second. VSC and TSC for 14k-something? What do you guys think? Toyota is dropping their only 2 sports cars, the Celica and the MR2, and pumping everything youth-oriented into the Scions.

I don't see how it will be competition for the 3.

It still only has 108 HP.

And with 10.5:1 compression, it probably has to run on premium gas (or at least mid-grade).

Looks like a typical case of form over function.

I definitely prefer function.

True, the Mazda has much more HP. I wonder what the weight on the xA is? Once you get into options, the xA can get a bit spendy as well.

The scion in competition with the 3 is the tC (which I drove 2 weeks ago in the US). There are several threads here comparing the Mazda3 with the tC

my friend is currently debating whether to get a used mp3 or a new tC. i have to say, the tC is pretty damn nice considering the price tag. if i were in the market for a new car, the tC would be on my short list. not a fan of the xA or xB, but sitting inside one (back or front seat) is like sitting in a tall chair. Your knees don't bend or anything, the room is crazy.
