SCBS (Smart City Break Support) - Tried and tested - Sort of!

Interesting the video says the sensor is behind the badge, yet some one posted a diagram of a CX5 showing the sensor behind the screen near the mirror?

Also the tester kept banging on about setting CC for the speed, but omitted to mention what the speed was, as it will only operate below 19mph?, then this should have been made plain, other wise its misleading.

The good thing in the UK is you get cheaper insurance with SBS, which is standard on all models.

The CX-5 is definately behind the rear view mirror and the City Brake Support does NOT work with Cruise control on the CX-5. USA does not have that feature. Europe and other countries do.
The Mazda6 has a Cruise Control System that lets it stop when it detects it's going to hit something while on cruise, and usually these systems ARE behind the badge, because that's the forward most part of the car.

Here's the features of the USA Mazda6 has:

  1. Mazda Radar Cruise Control System

Automatically controls the engine and brakes to maintain a safe speed and distance between you and the preceding vehicle.

  1. Forward Obstruction Warning System****

Detects obstructions ahead and warns you of a possible collision.

  1. Smart City Brake Support

Helps prevent frontal collisions when driving at low speeds by automatically applying the brakes, if needed.

The Australian video demonstrated the Radar Cruise Contorl System, NOT the Smart City Brake Support.

I just downloaded the Mazda6 Smart Start manual. Confirmed. City Brake Support sensors is on the rear view mirror, and Radar Cruise System is in the front badge.

Why's the video titled Smart Brake Support vs wall?
Radar Cruise Control is for following a moving vehicle, not a stationary wall. I'm sure it uses the same sensors for Smart Brake Support & Radar Cruise Control but the video is to demonstrate the Smart Braking System.

Maybe because they got it wrong? Because he got it wrong saying the sensor is in the badge when Smart Brake Support sensor is on the windshield.
Also I have to check my numbers, but Cruise control can't be turned on unless you're 20MPH or higher (maybe higher, forgot), and smart brake support only works when car is driving 19mph or less. and it's able to stop the car if it's less than 9mph or something like that.
