Long time member, but it's been over a decade since I last posted. Had an '03 P5 when they were new, and loved it. My son just turned 16, and it was time to find a fun daily/project for him. The requirements were:

1: Manual transmission
2: decent gas mileage
3: fun to drive
4: cargo space (bikes and skateboards everywhere)
5: and of course, CHEAP!!

Enter this '02 P5. The previous owner said it was backed into on the street 6 month ago. Since then, it sat in a driveway, going through insurance and negotiations. Damage that needs to be fixed:

1: front bumper
2: both headlamps
3: both foglights
4: left fender
5: both side mirrors.

luckily there's no frame or suspension damage, so it's just cosmetics to get it back on the road. Plans are to throw swaybars, coilovers, wheels/tires, and come engine bolt ons at it to have some fun. Stoked for the new project!!!

Great Father Son project that'll have many memories handed down. 👍

The P5 is a great car that's reliable and probably better made than most new cars.

Good luck on this and keep us posted.
There's not many here anymore with the 3rd gen Protégé's and like you revamping my Protege to new condition for a good second car. 😁
