I think that as time progresses, you'll see newbies like me picking up the car and getting more excited. When it first came out, there were relatively few cars to make it into all the hands out there. 2nd, the price was a little too steep for many of the average 16 - 24 year old enthusiasts who more frequently spend every waking hour on boards and the 'net. Not to forget the middle-agers and senior citizens (ha ... just kidding with ya) who make equally valuable contributions.
It's like with my MkII ('91 - '95) MR2, the "target market" of people willing to spend upwards of $20k on a 2-seat sports car kept most younger enthusiasts sidelined. As depreciation has lowered the price over time, you see more and more younger (and older) enthusiasts purchasing, modifying, and chatting about their MR2s.
Then again, the MP3, as excellent as it is, is still a Mazda (and not a RX) and ... well, I think we're just beginning to see the tide shift from the Honda/Acura camp. Another theory is that the warmer spring/early summer weather means that more people actually spend their time outside and driving their cars

I appreciate this community anyway and all the help you have and will contribute.
