At the risk of showing my age, for all you guys who call me "Newbie", I may be new to the forum, but I found pix of a guy's car that's exactly what I got for my first brand new car.

A 1977 Mazda RX3-SP

Same color and trim. Mine had dealer installed A/C. I don't remember that being the motor, mine seemed smaller (or my memory fades).

The front air dam shattered at the first high driveway.

It was my favorite car of all time!!!

It was archaic in ways, like solid alxe rear, but it would eat up anything around.

GOD! I miss it.

I wish this guy was selling.

what part of cville do you live in? i drive one of 2 msp's here. theres my black, a guy with a blue, and a blue mp3 in town. theres also a handful of rx7's and plenty of rx8's.

On Martin, just off Locust

You probably remember my black '04 Mazda6.
Tag was 04 ZMZM

They are classics now...awesome car...I have worked in a bunch of them....I think yours had the 12B correct?

Right. It had awesome power and would wind like crazy. Dual points were a dog, though.

Just noticed his pix show some with no air dam in front and some with.

The ones with show a replacement - not original.

Guess that one went the same way my first two did. Steep Driveways.

Hell yeah bro, I use to be a big fan of the RX-3's back in the day when I used to live in PR. My neighbor used to have a yellow one with a 13b turbo charged. That thing was wicked fast and loud.

If I ever find one for sale in the area... It will seriously make me consider selling my FB...

Hello,

There is a very nice one for sale on ebay right now. It appears to be in amazing condition and the current bid reflects it.

I would want one, but not $24K+ badly.

Those pix did bring back memories:

Like the long shift lever with the long throw to third. Made you almost feel like you were bowling.

Like the "Semi-automatic choke" that you pulled out for a cold start, and would automatically (magnetically) open once the motor warmed.

Like trying to get the 1978 Kentucky 13" snow off those back windows (I quickly learned to take off the louvered shade when expecting snow or ice) You could actually sit at a light and watch the snow pile up on the louvers in the rear view mirror.

Like the "cow catcher" front air dam that I lost very early to a steep driveway.

Like the then-unheard of 7K redline. Fords would blow up at 4500.

God, I miss that car, but not that much!

Puerto Rico or Miami Florida? So I guess that means that they would bring it to the states if the buyer wished?

The guy's reserve wasn't met, (I didn't think it would be) so presumably the car is still for sale.

Reserve was close

Hello,

The reserve was not met but it came very close. I believe it was less than two thousand dollars off. Since I am not buying I am glad to see that Mazda's are finally starting to show some value in the US and Canada.
