the 2 versions of the mazdaspeed rx8 in japan were pretty much the same, the biggest difference was the color, the v1 came in sunlight silver metalic, while v2 came in strato blue mica (think thats the name, its a dark blue, not the bright 'winning blue metalic').
The main reason for v2 was because the Mazdaspeed Rx8 was a limited edition, and the first one sold out so soon, mazda did another 'run' of it to sell more to people who wanted one but coulndt get one.
