Running out of ideas - NO Start issues

2005 Mazda Mazda6 I
I have a 2005 Mazda 6I 5 speed sedan. I just purchased the car in October last year and LOVED it until about January. I started having issues with the car not wanting to crank at all when I turned the key. I started with the battery and it started right up. No problem I thought. A week later, same problem. Went to start the car and nothing. Had it towed to a shop and the mechanic started it right up as soon as it came off the flat bed. I had him do some testing and decided to replace the starter for good measure. No issues until about 3 weeks ago. I was pulled into the CVS picking up prescriptions and turned the car off to hear the person at the window. The car had been running for about 10 minutes at this point and when I went to turn the car on again, nothing. I pushed the car out of the drive threw and dropped the clutch and it started. Got home 15 min later and shut off the car. Tried to start it with the key again and nothing. Started switching fuses and relays, also flexed the fuse box as some had described a short and nothing. Pushed the car down the hill again and it started again. This time roughly but it started and it threw a P2101 code. I checked the code out and cleared it and shut the car off and turned it back on. This time the car started right up with no issues.

This lasted about a week when I went to take my son to school and it cranked one and a half times and stopped. I read some things online saying it was the TB so I replaced that as well and it still wont start. I have replaced ALL the fuses as well and this did nothing. I am at a complete loss as to what to try next. I have also placed a paper clip to cross the clutch safety switch and that also did nothing so I have no idea what to do. I do not have money to get it towed or seen by a mechanic that will not be able to diagnose what is going on. Has anyone else had problems like this? The car just clicked over 100,000 miles and was running great besides burning and leaking some oil but that should have nothing to do with the no crank. I have no idea what to try next. Any ideas?

Would have taken it to a Mazda Dealer before replacing that many parts. That should be the next step imo.

Magesto1, did you figure this out?

I've got an 03 Protege5 with 209k miles on it. I think I've got the same problem.

Not a battery issue. Everything lights up, no chugging when it does crank, but randomly it will just do nothing when I try to start it. Everything electrical will come on when I try to start it, but the engine does nothing.

Typically I'll just try again and again and eventually (after 2-15 tries) it'll crank as if there is no problem.

My first try will be with replacing the ignition coil. Any other advice?
