i recently got 18" wheels with 225/40/18 yokohama tires. i want to get the eibach sportline springs which drop the car 1.8"-1.6". i just wanted to know if anybody has done this to see if they rub. Discount Tire put 225/45/18 on it originally and they rubed so i just want to be sure they wont rub with the sportlines and 225/40/18's on. thanks

whats your offset... less then +45mm you will rubb... preferably more then 48 and you will have no problems... with that drop...

to be honest i dont know what my offset is. how do i find out??

you should have known when you bought your wheels... most wheels come with a +30-50mm off set... there are a lot others but those are common... if you have less then a 42mm (which i imagine you do if you were rubbin on those tires with no drop) then you are sol.... that does suck man, where did you buy your wheels? what kind of wheels are they?

you could try rollin your fenders. if the offset doesn't suck too bad that might take care of it.

I have sportlines. I am running 18x7.5 rims with a 47 offset and 225/40r18. I have not rubbed once

he/she (don't mean to insult i just dunno) doesn't know what offset is on thier wheels, prob 42 or less i would imagine to be rubbin with 18s on stock springs....

i was rubbing when i had the 225/45/18. they were nitto and i just didnt like em. i went with the yokohama es100 in a 225/40/18 now and i dont rub at all anymore with the stock springs and have quite some space in the wheel well. i am gonna go to discount tire today and ask the guy who sold them to me what the offset is. i appreciate the help guys. thanks.

also would it be bad if i went like a month or so without the camber alignment kit with the sportlines. kinda short on cash (damn car payment), lol.

Find out what your offset is. Without that, there is no possible solution. Maybe you can return the wheels and get the same ones in a different offset. Generally stick to +43mm to +48mm offset wheels. And 45 series tires are not recommended when your rims get bigger. Just lessens the chance of rubbing if you run lower series like 40 or 35.

You won't need a camber alignment kit w/ the sportlines. Unless you do such a big drop...then you would require camber adjustments. Hope I'm right on this LOL

I think you will need a camber kit, i havent heard anyone here that doesnt need it, it actually gets worse with a lower drop. Sad part is that even if you wanted it it is difficult to get the kit. Mazda has one and its quite expensive and Eibach has been delaying theirs for like a year now.

yeah, you DEFINATELY need a camber kit. My camber is unbelievable. The problem is that I dont think I can correct it with my wheels. The tops of the tires would need to come out and in the rear there is just no room for that.....and i have 47 offset
