different solution: one on one foot race one guy carry one guy and is giving him a =piggy back ride and trying to race another by himself who's gonna win, the guy givining the piggy back ride running against michael johnson.
that's a solution. here's performance:

my weight 2359lbs my car is alot lighter and trust me i'll burn gsr's very bad not to mention. check out edmunds.com specs it'll tell you my car weighs 2359lbs 1994 lx was the lightest protege for 1990-1994. One more thing if you fell like drving down here in california you'll see alot of souped up cars in hanford,visalia,fresno, and bakersfield. Integra Type R's aint nothing that's why they have vtec an extra push just like gst-and gsx eclipse turbo awd 210-220 hp stock, guess what edmunds.com again weight 3300lbs. to heavy. I know this is about Mp3's but if your dissin my proteg lx i'll post some pix if i can, and a few other pix of my mp3. another thing acura,honda,toyota, and mitsu's have governers Integra Type R shut's down at 121mph. i've tooken my mp3 to 118mph one time and my protege lx to 135mph.
my 1994 tires roadstone tires 195/55r15all season and kmc banishee rims 15x7's.
 
I test drove an RSX Type-S before buying the MP3. I bought the MP3. I find the MP3 much more fun to drive and it turns a lot more heads than the RSX ever will. So it's a little slower, who cares. It's not how fast you get there, it's how you look when you get there.

I don't know about all those mod's you listed dood, but I do know that my friends type R is the fastest car i've ever had the pleasure to ride it. And unless you had something phat like a turbo/sc, I dont' think you would of beet it. That is of course unless that guys engine was running on two cynlinders.
 
Ok, i'm not trying to start a flamewar or nothing but for the comment that said all those mods that i put on it, it can't beat a type r. Yes the type r is fast with 195hp (DOCH VTEC) and modified exhaust, and the type R does have Ba**s. Technicaly your trying to say that in order to race someone u have to have a race where there has to be the same horses. Sorry fella there was just a flamewar about the camaro and MP3 how anyone would wanna hook up the MP3 and that the camaro was to heavy to handle the curves like the Mp3. Well the type r is heavier than my protege lx with mods and i know for the fact that that type r really was a type r (Yellow) color, because i've beat gsr's and no not gsr's or type r badges on them the redline on the gsr is 8000 rpm's and the type r's redline is 84000 rpms' and all the time we hang out and race othere people from different cities they think i'm pulling (NOS).
 
I have riden in a Type-R and an RSX Type S and I know that the RSX is a little bit slower even though it has more horsies coz it weighs a bit more...air, sun roof, etc that the Type-R doesn't have. I still can't take in the fact that you beat a Type-R :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
 
i find the RSX type S looking really cool...love the style...
but i heard that her 195-200hp wasnt working that much on the 0-60.... on a tv show they try it and they were doing it in 9.3 or 9.7 seconds 0-60...that suks...they said nothing happen under 6000rpm...
its quite unbelievable !!! im sure a mp3 wont beat a rsx type s on the 0-60...but why they said its that slow?!!!
if this car do it in 9.3 seconds...we must be doing it in 11!!!! even if they said 8.3

Wow, I accualy got to sit in an RSX (non type S) the other day, and that interior is nice.... I like it alot. And I used to not like the styleing, but I rather do like the over all look. Though what's weird is when your up close, there are lots of "blank spots" that just dont' have anything there. if you know what i mean. I kinda think it's silly that there are two S's in the name though. Kinda like saying GT mustang GT. :D
 
Since I own a RSX Type S I will give you the numbers !

2.0L 200hp@7400, 142 lbs-ft@6000

That is 100hp/L which is very very good !

Car and Driver:
0-60 : 6.1 s
1/4: 14.8s @ 95mph

Motortrend:
0-60 : 7.2s
1/4: 15.16s @ 93.24mph

Road and Track:
0-60 : 6.7s
1/4: 15.2s @ ??
 
One more thing, Acura claims a 0-60 time of 6.1 secs on there Canadian website. www.acura.ca

Select the Type S link, then put the cursor on the RSX selection bubble and wait.
 
"BUrnt a Civic Si last week on saturday went racing out on mooney's a whole ton of us went out to farmersville out in the country the first race was me and this cavalier z24 and smoked his assed by 3car lenghs and the 2nd was a 2000 si the buddy of mine i'm telling u about and smoked his car by 2 i/2 car lenghs to 60mph and to 100mph about 2 car lenghs but his car is bone stock and just lowered 2 inches. We video taped it and was wondering if i could post it on here which is probably impossible but next time i talk to him i'll get the video.
 
Hey triton, lets not start a fight but I want you to get some numbers straight.

First, the type R does not shut down at 121 MPH. That is not true, it is not governed, I have a LS and lets just say that I have been above that point.
Now your Protege, You can say you beat him any everything, but 300 lbs isn't going to make up for the power he has on you. Yes you have a hooked up car but come on. Pacesetter headers? When those were tested they actually lost HP. Also, how do you have Cold air intake and custom ram air intake? I thought you had to have one or the other. Unless you have some serious stuff under your hood, it would be VERY difficult to beat a type R.
Also, VTEC is not the only thing in a honda engine that gets it going. Just because it doesn't kick in until 6000 RPMs that doesn't mean it is a dog until then. The Type R is designed to stay in the powerband (in VTEC) the entire time. When a type R launches it is into VTEC almost instantly and it never leaves, so to say it has no pull from 0-6000 RPMs is not really true since it is never in that area of the powerband. The car is a work of art and that is why people don't believe you. I am not going to say you didn't win but I have trouble believing you did.
 
ok,lets just put it this way 300lbs might not make up for the power that my car is pulling against a type-r, but i would have not race this dude for money and sure in the heck of not waste my gas and miles on my Proteg Lx. That's just like me asking a guy in a Corvette zo-6 or camaro SS if he want's to race when i know i probably won't have a chance,maybe slightly with my mods from 0-100mph but on top end no i'm sure a Corvette Zo-6 would pull on me once i hit my mark that i've only got it up to and it was 135mph one time, most of the time i'm racing civics or integ's there's no need to go over 125mph cause i've never seen one even an Si or LS integ go over 120mph. most of the time i race they only go 110mph or tops 115mph. i'm not saying all cars have governers but i know that a Type-R has one at 121mph when i was with my buddy from the navy-base leaving the gate racing agains't a cavalier Z24 and his car felt like it was going to die after he hit 121mph and it slowed down and he took it back up to 121mph and it felt like it died out again but of course it was new with 2000miles but still it shutdown at 121mph. And for your Ls integ i don't know if your integ has a governer but i know for a fact 3 of my buddy's have 2 GS-r's, and 1 Gs integ, the GS-R can hit 124mph, and the Gs can only hit 118mph. so i'm saying that there's no way u have gone over 121mph bro in my opinion. and yes believe me bro my Protege LX is he**a fast. :D
 
You crack me up triton. I hate having these arguements online, but yes I have gone over 121. And the ITR does not have a governor. Something is wrong with all of your friends' cars if you think they die at 121. I don't understand why you would want to race up to that fast anyhow. It doesn't really prove anything besides the fact that you are crazy.
 
Well, I found this discussion to be quite interesting.
I'm not even picking sides, just showing some math. The key here is horsepower to weight ratio, as well as others. But that's a good start.

According to your specs:
195/2639 = .07 * 2359(weight of prot.)=165hp.
So, if it is plausible for his 1.8 to do that with all his mods, I can definitely see it happening. Plus, with aftermarket stuff you know he's reduced weight.

The easiest weigh to cut even more crucial weight is the unsprung weight, wheels, tires, hubs,brakes, etc. Remove interior panels and rear seats. I know you can shave like `150 lbs. off that car real quick.

For every pound of unsprung shaven is like 4 pounds of sprung weight. So hypothetically, if your wheels, exhaust and other things have all shaven weight, that increases your probablities immensely.

If a person has a light car, but heavy wheels it really doesn't serve any good purpose.

i.e. typical 15"=15-18lbs., lite cast = 12lbs., forged=9-10lbs. That's like 5lbs/corner * 4(coefficient for conversion) * 4corners = 80lbs. Yummy!! That all interprets into much quicker acceleration.

I'm sorry guys i went to mooney's on saturday night a rsx type-s raced this toyota Mr2 spyder and the rsx type-s got toasted by 2 car lenghs. The Mr2 had an Greddy airnix intake and that's it. Type-S got laughed at cause either the type-s driver suxs or that really show's the MR2 got's Ba**s. :D
 
it was the old MR2 that had the body style of the ferrari. People just started rolling out and kapping on the Type-s cause they knew that the Type-s shoulda won, but oh well everybody loses gonna have to learn to lose even though you don't like it. It was a Bad A** race though. :D
