I was looking at investing in some components for my front, and I was wondering would round make that much of a difference than a oval component?

is the speaker I'm looking at. They do offer round also though. If y'all suggest round, then I would probably go with a different brand.

Round speakers technically produce a cleaner sound due to the geometry of the cone and the sound waves come off of it in an even, radial pattern. But I challenge anyone to argue that they can hear the difference, I know I can't. You will want to power those speakers tho, they are very thirsty and the stock HU (or any HU for that matter) cannot properly power them. Yeah, they will work w/o an amp but you will get low frequency distortion at higher volumes.

can you recommend an amp? should i share the amp with the sub or have 2 amps?

It is best to have two amps. The speakers don't need much extra, it is just that the head unit can't nearly power them enough. I have always liked Alpine amps, clean power, well built, and a good price. The MRP-F300 will give you 75 Watts RMS with the Infinity's and clean up the sound nicely for around $200. Rockford Fosgate also makes killer amps in their "Punch" and "Power" series, but they can be pricey. (Don't buy Rockford Prime, those are complete garbage they sell to hit a price point). Really, most mainstream brand amps pushing between 50 and 100 watts RMS will work well. Just be sure to buy amps based on RMS power, not peak.

I had infinity kappa perfect component setup powered by a hifonics amp and they kept up well with my wall with 4 15's. never tryed the reference series but I have heard great things about them. I also had phoenix gold RSD's on the same amp and I prefered the $80 RSD's over the Infinity's, Although I dont think the make the RSD's anymore.

And on the round VS oval haveahotcarl explained it great in his first post. Technically yes, but in your application you probably wont notice a difference.

Also to get the full midbass output of any component's I suggest sealing up your door's (sound deadener and putting something solid over the access hole's in the door frame) I had never done this untill the last setup i had (the PG RSD's) and I think that is what made the most difference and made me more partial to them.

I just installed a Boston Acoustics GTA-1005 50W x 4 & 400W x 1 Car Amp. It powers all 4 door channels and the subs perfectly. The sound quality difference while still using the stock speakers is incredible.

It is powering 2 kicker 12" DVC subs with no problems at all.
