"Rough" downshifts when slowing/stopping?

Anyone else experience what I would describe as a rough/aggressive downshift when coming to a stop or slowing down? This has happened a couple of times on our new-to-us '12 GT, FWD. It's not enough that you would think the trans is coming out, but it is certainly noticed. There are 34k on the odometer, no service has been done to the transmission that I'm aware of.

My 2009 Touring exhibits this behavior from time to time. it has 48k miles, and has started to also occasionally surge a bit on the 1-2 up-shift, especially if I'm not particularly smooth with the throttle. If I happen to left off and then depress the accelerator just as the transmission is shifting from 1 to 2, then it will surge or rev higher before downshifting. I dont notice this at all when shifting manually.

Any suggestions? I thinking about bringing it in to the dealer for a transmission service, but am sure they will either find nothing wrong or will need to charge me X thousands of $ to fix it outside of my power-train warranty!

Honestly I'm not sure what the fix would be. It could be something with the programming, but I don't know. I'm tempted to try a reset - I know on Mustangs it will "learn" your driving behavior and adjust certain parameters such as throttle response/shifting/etc. You can reset the adaptive learning by just disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so. The only other alternative I know of would be to replace the tranny fluid, and see if that helps. Maybe go to a full synthetic. Anyone know the recommended fluid? Anyone tried a switch to something synthetic?

I seem to have the same type of problem when it down shifts from 6 to 5. A bit of hesitation followed by a small clunk or two. What's the drive train warranty? 100,000 miles??

Thanks
