Hi, my first post here and I'll say I'm very pleased with this vehicle so far.
I've had V.W. diesels in the past eight years. I notice there were nice features on the V.W.like the heated side mirrors and the heated seats were REALLY heated. Small stuff like that is all I've noticed I miss so fa. The economical differences will take some time to check. I do know that I probably could not afford the CX-5 diesel model in comparison to the engine that is in the one I just bought. It has a very pleasing amount of space and is not too big as many similarly sized vehicles are. I checked the CRV and RAV-4. Also, I was intent on the new Crosstrek by Subaru. I think I made the correct choice and hope to be proven correct with my decision.
I have a question though about the siderail crossbars I had added from the dealership. When I saw the crossbars I thought it odd that they didn't appear high enough to allow the clearance neccesary for the satellite antenna. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
ALSO, it would appear that the dealership actually collects hefty prices for such extras. It would appear that many places that sell Mazda accessories sell the for far less than the dealer.
Has anyone here noticed this? Would you be kind enough to offer advice? Mud flaps are next, THEN I want to review the other small stuff. I wonder if any of you have added the plastic side-door protection, rear bumper protection and, here's the big one... The front plastic protection. I've heard that this is difficult if you've never done it. I know a guy that would do a partial front at what would seem a reasonable price. I'll assune I would have to buy the kit from him which I would probably be the "bikini" cut style.
ANY reccomendations would be appreciated!
Thanks-
Chris
