Hadn't seen any talk of this piece, and I was wondering if anyone had it or knew what kind of quality it was. Looks a lot like the HKS unit.

Also, does anyone know if the recirculation fitting for the HKS piece would work on this one?

From what I've read it IS the HKS piece, or comes from the same factory, they're just not stamped HKS. I don't know if that's true or not, but they look identical.

I've had mine for probably 8 months or so and I've never had a problem with it.

Do you have any issues with the adjustment screw hitting the hood? I read it has clearance issues. It is a lot of money, and I just don't want to get a POS...I do like the Forge unit, but I don't really like the sound (one reason I got rid of it). I don't care for a hybrid valve, and this seemed to be a good valve for what I needed.

Also, does it come set up and ready to run recirculated?

the adjustment screw doesn't touch anything.....the unit itself sits a little too high and it pushes the tmic cover up a little. and the vacuum hose on the is smaller diameter than the factory hose so there are some fitment issues there.....BUT it works pretty good. i don't have anything to log it, but honestly once i put it on my car felt stronger mid-high range. after my wedding i plan on getting a different bpv because of the clearance issue....

i've seen people dremel the small corner of the IC cover so it doesn't push it up, but i didn't want to cut up my cover....and yes it comes to run recirculated.

I agree with every single word of this except I'm not getting married or swapping mine out. lol

Here's a pic:

if you buy brand new from dabears2k...you get the version two which has no adjustment screw....its self adjusting

this is the one you want to get if you don't want headaches....its just like the HKS without the HKS stamp....also it comes with a cp-e flange...which is a high quality flange that allows you to rotate the valve to avoid hitting the hood

am i the only one that thinks this is some cheap knock off!

i wonder if HKS knows this is out there?

of course they know...i am sure every manufacture out there knows people will be coming out with knock offs

i don't really care who makes it...as long as it works....and i know this works just like the HKS...it sounds just like it...and the dynos prove it...

I have one but I cant get the damn snap ring in there to put it together to save my life!!!!! uuuuggggggg!

nothing wrong with most knock-offs as long as they work.

I personally have tried the greddy type-s knock off ebay version valve and made a whole thread about it. I personally found that the fake one performed better just didnt sound as nice as the real one. The fake one coughed a kooosh sound while the real one is psssst whistle sound.

I say if this RKM is an HKS knockoff but it works and soudns good then go for it!

it sounds pretty damn close if you ask me....if there is a sound difference, i doubt most people can tell anyway
