how to protect our rims?
how much does it cost for a 17" rims?
what is the perfect size of the rims should be?
what kind of rims should we buy for P5?
is the lighter rims better?

I'm personally going with a $$$ buys quality approach..so it might take me a little longer to get my rims, but it'll be better...
what I am deciding between are :

Racing Hart C2s
Racing Hart CP0-35s
VOLK Racing TE37s
VOLK Racing LE37s
VOLK Racing GT-Ps
VOLk Racing Gram lights

All these wheels are extremely light and track proven. They are extremely pricey, (most of the volks are $1500 for 17s for just the rims) but theyre probably some of the tightest designs and quality guaranteed. Racing Hart 17"s usually go for about $1000-1200 for 17s without tires..as for tires, I'm going to try to get some bfGoodrich T/A KDWS hopefully.. =)

All are extremely light with the exception of the Racing Hart C2's and Volk Racing GT-P's, none of the Volk Racing GT series rims are. Have you thought about the SE37k's, they are very light and strong rims. 17's weigh 13.75lbs. Also, have you looked into the Gram Light 57F, the ones that everyone seems to have are the 57C which are cast, the F stands for forged and they look a bit better. Good luck with whatever you guys choose. It will look good no matter what wheels you choose.

yeah, the C2 and GT-P(diamond cut finish!) are a bit showy..but still, it's pretty light compared to some other 17" aluminum wheels..
and i have seen the gram light F series..they look pretty awesome..theres a group buy right now for 17" C series for 995..im tempted..but not sure..haah..my local speed shop i go to has 17" TE37s in...he said hed give em to me for $1200 which is a steal..but theyre white ..=\.. i dont like white rims on black cars..personally..but it is still tempting as well..

yeah...$$$ does buy quality...but if you're gonna get any volks...start saving them bones...lol...personally i don't like black rims on a light car...or white rims on anything...but hey that's just my opinion...i still think gunmetal grey is the coolest color on the planet...but those te-37s would look pretty sweet...mmmmmmmm

ah man..gunmetal is possibly the coolest color on the planet...
my friend just got his civic hatcback w/ gs-r and turbo painted gunmetal with 2 layers of clearcoat.....
it looks so damn awesome..i bow down to it..even if it is honda..:)

nice choices, personally I like the gram light pros, the ones with the polished lip, I think they look amazing. Or you could always go with my choice, GT-Cs in gunmetal!

Check out the gram light pros that we're releasing in a month or so. These are a two piece welded forged wheel I believe.

They are not that expensive and look so sick.

I'll find a link and post later.

Protect the rim

For all rims out there, polished, brushed, painted.....
Turtle wax makes a two-step rim cleaner/protector. I dont have the name right now (it's in my trunk) but it works like a charm. The first step is a gentle but effective cleanser that you spray on, leave, and wash off, basically a good soap that cuts brake dust but doesnt harm rims. The second step, which is super cool, is a protective spray. It's like that no-scratch stuff they can spray on your paint, but for rims. It dries sticky at first, but puts down a completely clear coat (hmmm, clear-coat, clearcoat) on the rim that protects against scratching and also is super-slick to keep brake dust from even staying on the rim. I apply it whenever I wash my car. I've looked at my rims and found nicks and scratches, then rubbed it with a cloth and realized it had only nicked the Turtle Wax protectant, the stuff did its job. You can buy the product at Pep-Boys. It's a two-can set, one red, one gray.;)

I know I'm gonna catch some heat for this, but I think I may be the only person who doesn't like the GT-C's.:( I'm not trying to start a flame war at all. But for some reason they just don't do it for me. The only GT wheel that Volk makes that looks awesome to me is the GT-N in Gunmetal.

Hey, no biggie Apex! We all have different tastes; so you may not like the GT-Cs, personally, I don't like the GT-Ns! I don't take it personally if someone doesn't like something that's on my car...as long as they say it inteligently and politly like you did. Unlike some of the idiots I've met who say things like "Damn fool, your s*** looks nasty! What the hell were you thinking?!?" Stuff like that pisses me off, whether or not they're talking about my car or someone elses. We're all enthusiasts who are here for one reason, we all enjoy our cars. let's not put someone else's style down just because we don't agree with it. If you don't agree with it, say it politly and no one will be offended. Sorry about the rant, I just get annoyed sometimes when people shoot off their mouths and decided to use Apex's post as an example of how you should say something.

You should be able to find any of the Volk Racing GT series for about $1500 for all four 17s or about $1700 for all four 18s. Without tires of course.

All of the Volk Racing "GT" series are still forged but are, in fact heavier than the standard line of one piece Volks because they are a two piece wheel. Typically the GT-A/C/N/P 17s weigh about 20 pounds and the 18s weigh about 23 pounds. That's still not THAT heavy and I wouldn't let that affect my choice if I really liked a particular style of wheel. Besides, the GT series are much more affordable than Volk's standard lineup.
