Right rear brakes burning! Caliper sticking? MP5

Hello all- I am new to this forum, and desperate to fix my problem, as I don't like driving to work with my brakes burning. My car is a 2002 Mazda Protege 5.

I recently replaced my rear pads and rotors, and had a hell of a time before I read that there is a set screw for rotor retraction.

My problem is that the right rear brakes are now burning when I drive. I loosened the set screw as far as it would go, and then tightened it back until the rotor was hard to turn, and backed it off at least another turn, to be safe. It still smells, and the rotor is discolored from the heat. I do not feel the resistance, but there is fresh "burn smell" when I park it and inspect. The brakes seem to work just fine.

Is the caliper not able to open and close freely? I don't believe the boots/gaskets for the lubed parts of the caliper are in acceptable condition. Where can I get those?

What parts need to be lubed, and what lube do I use?

I can't afford to take the car in, especially after I've come this far and put several days of my own work in to this brake job.

Also, why the hell isn't there a repair manual available for this car?

Thanks in advance for any help--
Brian

Did you clean and grease the caliper sliders? Also did you readjust the parking brake?
