right (passenger) ventilator replacement (64-720A)

The right ventilator on my 2010 Mazda 5 has a broken slider lever and dealer wants $70.00 part and 1.5 hours to replace. He actually told me he did not think it was worth the money and to live with the broken slider lever. Has anyone ever replaced that ventilator or know a thread that did? Dealer told me you have to buy the whole assembly which is part 64-720A

Ebay, junkyard, this forum under the Mazda3 for sale section look for whole car part outs. Looks to me like getting the part is the easy part (no pun intended) If the dealer is quoting 1.5 hours that means you DON"T have to remove anything major to get that sucker out. If the whole top of the dash had to be removed you'd be looking at probably 6-8 hours labor.
