Revolution Controller Revealed

hah!

MY xbox is the best dvd-recording, internet radio playing, gaming backup, web browser i ever bought.

can you say the same for your gamecube?

pwned.

p.s. allowing me to borrow your mario sweatshirt didn't convert me.

uh, not trying to convert you, tough guy. i guess i use my PC for internet radio, gaming emulation, far better web browsing, etc on a higher resolution device than a television. we call it a monitor.

i have more fun playing games on my gamecube and PS2, which can't be said of any xbox, yours or mine. plus DVD recording is pretty irrelevant to me.

"pwned"

glad to see you took something so trivial and decided to be so competitive on it.

Eh, not fair Phil, why are you comparing a CHIPPED xbox vs a gamecube, when we are talking about the Rev controller?

Anyways, the Rev actually looked cooler and cooler the more i read about it. The controller...well its different but I will give Nintendo this; they do some good innovating. The N64 joystick was the first analog (well, I guess you can argue the NiGHTS controller had an analog, but which came out first, i dont know)

At first i thought you hold it sideways(edit:turns out; you can, i didnt read the whole article.), which i was like oh badass, but...wtf? i dont know. if the games are good enough people will learn to play on anything.

the nights controller released about a year after n64 and after the dual analog psx controller (not the dual shock, two different controllers)

what i don't get is the people who have tried this thing out in the media are actually saying its great. EA even says it will fit thier sports games perfectly - how? i'm not seeing it yet, but i don't really see the appeal of the DS and that thing sells like hot cakes.

i like the left hand analog stick corded into the remote. i could see that working well for a first person shooter (aim/shoot with remote, move with stick).

N64 was the first to have 4 ports w/o multitap and also one of the first to have rumble feedback.

The thing about nintendo is they are VERY imaginative. They come up with some crazy ideas and hope they work out, and I kinda like that. Not many work (N64 microphone attachment?? gameboy camera?) but they do it anyways and its pretty cool

So how the hell can you play Madden with that thing? At least, the xbox and ps controllers where somewhat the same. I think it's going to be a cross platform developer's nightmare. (hand)

ohhhhh golden eye. n64. many friendless nights.

oh man how? multiplayer was the reason to have that game! spent many a week without sleep on 4player mode.

also, i hate to say it, but i think goldeneye was the spark that lit the fire for console FPS.

hell yes, agreed. the only reason i'd buy a 360 is for perfect dark zero. s***, the promise of that game on xbox was one of the only reasons i bought an xbox :( the same dev team on 007/pd64 is doing pdzero.

haha i meant sleepless hahaha. ihave friends. LOTS OF THEM, so many i cant count anymore ..yea ;)

xbox has never disappointed me. i dont think i'd buy a revolution, especially after seeing the controller.

however, i wont be buying a 360 or ps3 either. too rich for my blood.

Never cared for a ps2 besides gt3. Never had ANY reason to have a gamecube.

Mod'd Xbox plays everything i want, and emulates the rest, and its the best media center to date period. did someone say dvd recorder on xbox???? Have i missed something?

Now, this little remote thing for the nintendo intrigues me I admit. I've been saying for years that the conventional gamepad sucks for fps and needs to be replaced. Whether this is it or not we'll see. Looks a little awkward not to mention your arms getting tired from holding it.

Nintendo has always been creative, I'll give them that. I thought they were dead after the n64 but their still around. Lets not count them out yet I guess.
