Reverse trigger for backup camera with aftermarket (Pioneer) radio?

Hello Folks,

I just installed a Pioneer 4000 NEX using the PAC RP4-MZ1 in my 2015 Mazda6. Everything is working great, except I can't seem to get the reverse trigger to turn on the backup camera. I should be able to connect the purple/white wire from the Pioneer harness to the green wire of the PAC interface, correct? Anyone else have any issues?

PAC tech support tells me they are working on a firmware update, but it seems like several of you have this set up successfully for your CX-5. Could be a Mazda6 vs. CX-5 issue, but I really have no idea.

so if that pin is not on the harness, how do you wire that in, and what wire did you connect it to?

I had an extra wiring harness, so I pulled a wire from there and pushed it into the correct spot on the PAC (orange) harness. Connects to the purple/white wire from the Pioneer.

Check your PAC harness...you may already have the wire you need. It's also possible the wiring is a little different on the CX-5 vs. the 6. Might not be an issue for you at all.

I have the PAC RP4-MZ11 and have installed it - along with a Kenwood head unit. The reverse connection is present and working, no wire swapping required.
