Damn that hood looks good, to bad I don't have the funds (sad2).

So, maybe I don't understand. Does this leave room for a short ram intake, like the Ractive/AEM?

by when will we see a group buy started?

not to rush u or anything, just wondering....

no that's fine, it's a valid question.

the answer is that i would like for it to start now, but i do think it's important to make the details 100% clear first before i go posting stuff. Also as this is a prototype and such, we want to test it out a bit to make sure there are no issues.

last thing any of us need is to get something and need a mass recall, eh?

but it shouldn't be that long. :)

Good to see you looking out for everyone. So what company was making this hood? I saw someone ask, but didn't see an answer, maybe I keep missing it. Oh yeah, and this issue, shipping. It's been a big thing keeping me from getting any carbon fiber hood. $150 for shipping seems to be standard. So if the hood is in the $500 range, it's actually $650. Any way to get around that?...other than pick up. I just really don't feel it's justified to pay $150 for shipping especially when ups, or the usps take sooooooooo long to get things anywhere, and then the boxes they come in are beat to hell. The hood is really (cool)

hehe.. drive up. ;)
other than that i don't know.
i suppose shipping together might be cheaper?? i've never shipped anything this big.. so i dunno.

(no prob - again, Gemini Composites is making the hood.)

hmmm i'll have to ask marc. so far all i've seen is red, yellow, orange, and blue.

btw blue weave will end up being a very close match to the midnight blue proteges ;)

absolutely beautiful work!!! My hat's off to all the work you have done niv, Gemini, and all the others involved in getting this fabbed. I'm hoping by the end of the holiday season to be jumping in on getting one (just ordered an IC, so $$$ is tight again til after the holidays). I can't believe how nice it came out...and it's literally exactly the way I'd hoped it would be!!!

and some pics of some hoods there that were just crap. first one i don't know who made it.. the second was a VIS hood on a beamer. what a shame. that hood was crap too. I never knew what "bad" cf work was until i saw some at importfest.

i'd like to do a g/b asap but i know that it's the holiday season.. what is the general consensus from those of you who are seriously considering this getting the hood?

i'll talk with Marc and see what's up as well in terms of deposits etc.
WE've had the hood in testing las couple days.. but would like to give it a few more days and be able to see how it does at higher velocity.
