Reuse gasket for d/p install?

My d/p is on the way. Is everyone replacing the factory turbo to d/p gasket or reusing the old one? I'm asking because I just priced a new gasket at my dealership $84 ouch!

Great, just what i wanted to hear. On my subies i always replaced it, but it was a crush style gasket and had to. But they were only about 18 bux.

The gasket is reusable. No problem. Expect quite a bit of trouble removing the downpipe from the turbo housing -- it's a bear to get to it. I had a good muffler shop do the install of the TurboXS DP and MP. I know the guy so I watched the process while the car was up on the lift.

So, if you do this yourself, the instructions and photos here will be a big help, but expect this to take some time. Be patient.

BTW this is a HUGE performance increase. Probably better than anything else you can do for the money. And be prepared to start getting a CEL light after a few miles. I'm putting the spark plug extender fix in tonight to raise the O2 sensor further out and away from exhaust flow and see if that takes care of the light.

I'm new to the forum. Been lurking for a while, but have played with turbo tuning (mostly in SAAB's) for quite a few years.

Thanks for the tips. No CEL worries for me (cobb accessport). I have done may d/p installs on subarus, so we'll see how it goes. If it does for this car what it did for my STi........I'll dance a little jig......or something

You'll be dancing and grinning.

This one mod dropped a whole second off of my 60-100 mph time. I'm stock otherwise - stock exhaust behind the midpipe, no intake changes, no tune (yet). That's huge mid-upper range gains with the blower at full tilt.

It's hard to improve on the 0-60 (especially 0-30) or 60 ft. times due to traction control cutting engine output in lower gears and with launch difficulties. I hear the only way to really improve the 60 ft. is to go to true drag slicks.
