Well, today J lube was supposed to go and look at the engine, they requested that the valve cover and oil pan was taken off. Well, they stopped by and had a look. Heres the outcome...

My dad called me today (he's been dealing with this for me because he can b**** good) and said, "well neal, are you sitting down?" at that point my heart sank, because i knew some bad news was coming. But the following lines saved the day! He then said "because you might want to stand up so you can jump for joy!!"

Jiffy lube is replacing EVERYTHING. New short block, complete engine, new turbo, piping, EVERYTHING under the hood. They are paying for all gaskets, labor, rental car (thank God), total bill.... $9000.00 And I dont have to pay a dime. Awesome, simply awesome. I am soooo happy today. You cant believe how relieved we are. The dealer is hella happy also, I mean this is mad profit for them, they are being soo nice to us. Yeah, i'll definately never go to Jiffy Lube for an oil change again. From now on i'm buying the oil at walmart, and letting the dealer do it. Oh, and the car should be done around the beginning of next month. But for now i'll be cruising in the '04 F150 Supercrew..., damn this things sweet...

Sweet. Yeah I would never take my car to J Lube either, because...I'm ashamed to say it... but I used to work for them. For about a month, them I quit. To much bullsh*t. They try to push so much stuff that your car doesn't really need. Like the engine flush...ruins your gaskets and seals. They wanted me to sell stuff to people that they didn't really need. I wasn't that kind if person. So I left. I worked for Honda and Acura as a tech then went to school for Electronics. Always take your car to the dealership or some you trust. I'm glad this turned out for you man. :D

great news!! good thing you didnt have to pay that $9k that would of sucked

Hah, yeah just a bit. Actually probably would have taken it somewhere else but then I still would have had to pay for the storege fee from it sitting there so long.

Damn dooode....$9,000 for the whole thing? Damn straight they (dealer) is makeing a killing. It better be forged internals for that much. I would say its like $2K-3K for a new engine, 1-2K for a new turbo, and maybe another 1K more for other stuff. You do the math...that is one big profit for them...no wonder why they are happy.

s***, I'd try to get them to cut you the check, and let you do your own repairs...Like spacemonkey said, you can get a built block, an upgraded turbo kit and engine management for less than $9K...

guys are you paying attention, the $9,000 didn't include only the parts, it also included all labor and the rental car.. spacemonkey added up $6k in parts, so that leaves $3k for labor and rental car (which, i'm sure that F150 supercrew isn't cheap to rent!)

I was actually watching the tech put your engine together the other day :) I was asking him all sorts of questions while waiting for my car to be done. Interesting stuff man! You can be sure your new engine was built by a pro, because he was going a very good job!

Great news!! I'm really glad that they (Jiffy Lube) were responsible for their mistake and that it didn't have to go to court. That's a lot of money that you would have been forced to pay, had they said "Sorry kid, tough luck."

BTW, it's a rental car... abuse it!

Excellent news. Thats a lot of paper for an FS engine. Ouch! But you should be good to go. My advice to you is to buy a quality jack, stands, and some drain pans. Change the oil yourself from now on. Its easy and you won't screw yourself over like some moron at a quick change place.

Yeah, but its a price that i dont have to pay. Im not buying a thing. Maybe if they just cut me a check for 9g's i would consider a built engine, but they are paying the dealership. Plus I dont have time for any hassles.

Also I doubt that was my engine being put together. (what dealersip was it? on what car?) because it didnt even get approved until yesterday. Im sure everything wasnt even ordered until either yesterday evening or this morning.

I would change it myself, but nah...

Great to hear. Atleast they are owning up to their mistakes!

And 9k is a ridiculous cost for turbo & new engine!

Nice! Pretty impressive on Jiffy Lube's part to cover it. Usually, it's "too bad, so sad", or "you can't prove it" s*** like that. But lesson learned? Do it yourself or take it to the dealer.
