I wrote to them (you'll see my message below)... and here's the response I got:

Thanks for contacting Mazda.

As of right now, there is not an iPod adapter that will work in conjunction with the Technology Package. I can assure you that our Product Planning Department is looking into the possibility of something like this in the future, but there is no concrete information available yet.

Consumer feedback is always very important to Mazda. Certainly, we want to offer exciting accessories, and comments such as yours will help us to achieve that goal.

Rest assured I have documented your suggestion for our corporate record. These records are continuously being reviewed by our Product Planning Department in an effort to provide only the highest quality products to our customers.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda.

Regards,

I'm the owner of a CX-7 Grand Touring with Tech Package... and am DYING for a iPod adaptor that will work with the Tech package/Navigation system. I was wondering if you can share any information on when it will be available and if it will utilize the touch screen to display what is playing on the iPod and to control the iPod. Also, I am hoping you will also come out with a splitter (similar to the one for the Mazda 3, P/N TD13-79-CFZ) that allows the adaptor AND Satellite Radio to be hooked up at the same time.

Thanks! Appreciate any information on availability and specs you can send.

sounds like we are SOOL for now.

I guess I continue with my Airplay Boost FM transmitter for now. Luckily, I hardly drive except for quick errands or a few big road trips ... I spend most time on foot with my iPod walking to work each day.
