Respect for a friend

:) LIVE LIKE JAY :)

My friend Jay Moriarity's birthday is coming up, so I thought I'd change my avatar for the occasion. :) Jay lost his life while free-diving(deep diving w/ no SCUBA tanks) in the Maldive Islands almost two years ago. He was one day shy of his 23rd birthday.
It's really hard to find words to describe Jay, so I'll let pictures do the talking for me...

How Jay got famous: Balls Of Steel

Jay liked to ride waves that were so huge, they were humanly impossible to catch, hence the Jet-Ski.

...What these pics dont show is the way Jay treated people. Little kids, old ladies, everyone in between...He liked 'em and it showed. He volunteered much of his time helping handicapped kids learn to get around on their own. He also had the most contagious smile ever, all he had to do was flash it, and you couldn't help but join him. :)

Anyway..HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY. May you rest knowing that you have great people here still spreading your cheer, and continuing the legacy of your life.

RIP Jay. Nice gesture on his B-day and all. I only hope when I go there are peeps like you to give props. Moment of silence. He's having a cold one up there I'm sure. Peace.

It's pretty weird to look up to someone that's over five years younger than you, but Jay had that effect on people. He just made you want to follow his lead. One of the MANY things he did for me was to get me into this organization called the "Ride-a-Wave" foundation where we would take blind/handicapped people surfing. He was a class act, for sure.

wow, I just got chills.

Yeah, that is some good stuff, sounds like he was one of the few who spent their time making a difference.

Better to burn out than to fade away.

Happy Birthday Jay!!!

We (drinks) To you! May we all strive to live our lives to the fullest like you did.

Yep, you look at that smile and you just gotta :D

wow... now that's some love right there.....

the pic speaks for itself.... only a good person would evoke such a show of love and remembrance as that

R.I.P.

8 year bump??? lol

So anyway, Hollywood has been invading Pleasure Point making a movie about Jay's life. Gerard Butler (of SPARTAAA! fame) stars as Jays friend Frosty.
While filming up at Mavericks last month, he got cleaned up by a sneaker set. After researching his part via a 3 wave hold-down, he was basically dead. They pulled him out of the water, resuscitated him, and brought him to Stanford. He was fine, but "shaken up" is an understatement.
