Okay, I have 10K miles on my car and am trying to trade on a new Tundra. However, nobody seems to want to pay a dime for the car, or at least want to poke my eyes out. I was told $10K by my yota dealer, probably wholesale quote, and the dealer I bought it from doesn't even want it. If the market is even 13K for it, then that means it's crap. But that's what Nissan told me they would give me for it 2 months ago, and I would have to eat about $1500. That I can do, but not $4500. If this is how a Mazda retains residual, foogetaboutit. Anyone want to buy an 04 Blue 5 Door 5 speed with tint and bra? $13 and it's yours.

Residual value on any car that's that new is bad. You lose like 20% of the value just driving it off the lot

No, I bought it in February, traded my Matrix XRS on it. I owe about 14.5 as of now, so it wasn't 2 months Einstein. I did think about it, but didn't think residual was that bad with Mazda, should have kept the trix I suppose. Actually, 2 months later I will be in Mosul, Iraq, so no.

I can handle eating 20% even 30, but not 40-50, that's plain ridiculous. Should have kept the Yota. Not too mention, I've had more warranty issues with this heap of crap than any of my previous cars, Acura, Honda, Yota...etc..which is probably why the residual blows Arse. Go ahead, find out for yourselves.

I worked at a dealership, they buy cars for what they are selling for at auction...for instance, an 02 pro5 is worth about 10K as that's what you can get a clean one for at the auction block, an 02 Neon is only worth 3K! There's nothing wrong with a dealer offering you as much as you're getting. Your car is "only worth what SOMEONE ELSE WILL PAY FOR IT!" Just be thankfull you didn't buy a focus, cavalier, or neon.

Yes, but this is an 04'. And I am very glad, but would never consider buying those others, just disposable autos.

Here in Canada, a brand new car, as soon as it's registered to a owner, it instantly looses 30% of it's value, doesnt matter what it is. Never try to get rid of a car the first 2 years you have, it really hurts the pocket.
