Replacing headlamp assembly on 2013 CX-9

My right daytime running lamp hasn't worked in years and I haven't replaced it because you have to replace the entire assembly (per Mazda). I recently found them on rock auto and they're cheap so I'm finally doing it. The question is... are the originals halogen or xenon? My options are halogen $173 each and xenon is $451. I'm guessing xenon because they're $2000 through Mazda. And are they interchangeable?

DRL is the hi-beam on low voltage, so confirm that the right hi-beam does not work.

If so, change the hi-beam bulb (9005). No need to change the whole assembly/housing.

In regards to xenon or halogen, they came with both, so you need to look and see what you have.

So I went out to investigate and here's what I found:
Headlights in "Off" position: driver side on, passenger side nothing
Headlights in "Auto" low beam: Both sides on; "Auto" high: both on
Headlights in Parking lights position: driver side on, passenger side nothing
Headlights in On position: both are on except passenger side- the lights that form a circle around the round light.
So what I can assume is that the parking light is also the DRL? And is THAT replaceable?

And also, Bronco Boy-do you also drive a Bronco? I ask because I'm passing my cx-9 on to my daughter and buying a Bronco.

So no DRL, glow ring & park light on the right side. Left side works fine.

Check the right park light bulb to make sure it isn't burnt out.

Not sure how the glow ring is supposed to work. It might come on with the park lights, or with the headlights.

Need to start probing with a voltmeter to see where the fault(s) are.

I used to have a very modified 1985 Bronco back in my 4-wheeling days.
