replacing clutch, should I replace this also

Ask me about my Ipod
:
2002 Miata LS
Either my pilot bearing or the throw out bearing on my 02 miata is going.

I got the car all up on jack stands and half way out at this point.

in scoping it out it looks like the tailshaft seal is leaking so that will be replaced.

What is your opinion on also replacing the rear main seal since it will be accesseible. The car right now is not leaking any oil or burning. I got about 102,000 on it.

Should I replace the rear main seal any way or just check it? Anything else I should replace while its all apart other then what looks like its needs to be?

I'd say replace it while you're back there. I'd hate for it to go in the next couple thousand miles and have you do all the work over again for a $20 part

Heres another vote for replacing the RMS. When it starts leaking, you'll regret not having done it when you had the chance. The $8 part plus 15 minutes of time is well worth it.
