Ha ha. This was my second time around replacing these belts. It took less than an hour last time, which was over 7 years ago.
Removed first drive belt with no problem. The alternator drive belt could not be loosened, so I started to loosen the bottom bolt that hold the bottom end of the alternator. That bolt broke off. The threaded end was rusted in place in the alternator. To get it out, I had to remove the bracket that holds the alternator to the engine. Then, I tried to remove the extract the broken bolt but it would budge, even with PB Blaster. I ended up drilling out the old bolt, the last two steps took the longest time. I could not remove the alternator from the engine bay. The steering rack and axle block removal from below, it is too large to extract from the side or the top. Then, I used a M10 bolt and nut to hold the bottom end of the alternator in place.
Advice, try to manually lever or hit the alternator forward to loosen that drive belt.
